I get an error when I try to start a scan

If Roomio shows an error when you tap to begin a scan, or the scanning screen will not load, the checks below cover the usual causes.

Do not delete or reinstall the app. Any scan saved on your device that has not been uploaded yet goes with it.

Checks you can do now

  1. Check your device is supported. See "What iPhone and iPad devices does Roomio support?" Roomio does not run on every model, and an unsupported device is the most common reason scanning will not start.

  2. Check Roomio has camera access. Roomio needs your camera to scan. Open the Settings app on your device, find Roomio, and make sure Camera is switched on.

  3. Check you have free storage. Scans are written to your device as you capture, so a nearly full device can stop a scan before it starts.

  4. Restart your iPhone or iPad. This does not affect anything saved in the app.

You do not need an internet connection to scan. If you have no signal at the property, you can scan and order later. See "How to Scan Offline and Upload Later".

Still getting the error?

Email support@roomio.io and include:

  • Your device model, for example iPhone 15 Pro

  • Roughly when it started happening

  • The address of the property you were trying to scan

  • The email address connected to your account

If you can, add the exact wording of the error message. It helps the team pinpoint it faster.
